Drain Defense
January 2023 - May 2023
A finished prototype of a fluid based tower defense game. Playable here.
- Led small team to develop idea and assets. Taught various team member how to use git and gitlab.
- Features custom AStar pathing for water, debris avoidance, stairs, and 2d water and land connections.
- Fluid flowmap for velocity and real flowing fluid simulation. My custom implementation resolves the flowmap for floating bodies each time the terrain is edited.
- Custom GLSL shaders for object and river waves.
Normord
September 2022 - Present
Small team consisting of myself (lead programmer) and a 3D artist to create a indie single player horror shooter.
- Implemented enemy AI and navigation, weaponry, AI threat analysis, and player controller.
- Relied heavily on linear algebra.
- Led team to adopt git, gitlab, and figma.
Not Boring Content
August 2022 - November 2022
3D teaching tool to help teach programming using the Godot game engine.

- Used to teach pre-teens fundamentals of programming.
Stactory
September 2021 to August 2022
3D Factory themed physics based puzzle game using the Godot game engine.
- Maximized number of rigid bodies present in the simulation.
- 3D models in blender (really enjoyed learning UV mapping)
- Unfortunately later learned that Godot was not the right engine for this type of game.

Orometric Noise for Procedural Terrain Generation
June 2021 - March 2022
Novel solution to procedural terrain using Orometry and a modified cellular noise function.
- Published research and gave dissertation using standard Chinese (fun).
- Became one of very few Americans to get a CS Masters from Sichuan University.
- As you can tell from more recent work, I was wrong in my thinking that "I'd better study terrain gen, after all any game I want to create later will definitely need 3d terrain!"
- Became familiar with procedural terrain method techniques both real time and not.
Bookshelf
March 2018 to September 2019
Created digital bookshelf for children's books using webdesign tools and java backend.
- Became fluent in old-school tools: Glassfish, Netbeans, JSP, mySQL, and more for web development.
- Enjoyed learning how to use Allibaba's web tools for domain names and CDN renting.
- Performed the miracle of successfully setting up Glassfish with HTTPS certificates.
